"For most of my life I have had to deal with mouth sores... so you have to watch what you eat, what you drink and pay attention when in the sun. In the past I typically have used Abreva an over the counter medication which is fairly expensive. If you apply Abreva early enough when you feel the numbing coming on it will work some of the time, but not always and takes days to notice a change.  A few months ago, I was on antibiotics for a sore tooth and had a dime size sore.
